A Night of Elegance and Purpose

The prestigious crowning event brought together the finest in Ugandan fashion, music, and entertainment. Hosted by dynamic media personalities Kenneth Rukundo and Anita Fabiola, the evening was a celebration of beauty with a purpose. Nagayi emerged as a clear crowd favorite early on, with her supporters passionately chanting her name and holding up placards bearing her image every time she graced the runway.

Taking the first runner-up position was Nakato Bridget Prudence, representing Northern Uganda, while Balunywa Lukia from Eastern Uganda secured the spot of second runner-up. However, it was Nagayi who ultimately swayed the judges with her poise, intelligence, and a deeply personal advocacy project. Inspired by her mother, the new queen has pledged to use her reign to champion financial literacy and youth skilling, with a specific focus on empowering young women across the country.

Following her emotional victory, Nagayi drove away in a brand-new Toyota Wish, her grand prize for securing the national title.

Celebrating 15 Years of the Miss Uganda Foundation

This year’s pageant held special significance as it marked the 15th anniversary of the Miss Uganda Foundation under the stewardship of Chief Executive Officer Brenda Nanyonjo. Speaking at the ceremony, Nanyonjo praised the incredible journey and growth of the contestants.

"What a night! This year's journey has been truly special. We marked 15 years, and I have seen the Class of 2026/2027 blossom and become the divas they truly are," Nanyonjo stated. "Only one was crowned, but they are all queens in their capacities."

Under Nanyonjo's leadership, the Miss Uganda franchise has consistently produced strong contenders for the Miss World stage. Recent queens have made significant global impacts, with Hannah Karema named first runner-up for Miss World Africa in 2023, and Natasha Nyonyozi making global waves with her autism advocacy project during her 2024/2025 reign.

The Road to Miss World 2027 in Tanzania

For ChiwawaTV readers and East African entertainment fans, Almorie Nagayi’s reign carries an exciting regional connection. She will carry the Ugandan flag at the 74th edition of the Miss World pageant in 2027, an event that brings the world's spotlight directly to East Africa as Tanzania prepares to host the global competition.

Hosting Miss World is a monumental achievement for Tanzania, promising to showcase the country's rich culture, tourism, and entertainment sectors to a massive international audience. During the grand finale, Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic will crown her successor, and the Miss Uganda Foundation is hopeful that Nagayi’s blend of youth, pageant experience, and clear foreign policy ambitions will bring the Miss World crown to Ugandan soil for the very first time.

As Nagayi begins her nationwide tour to implement her financial literacy initiatives, the entire region will be watching her journey to the Tanzanian stage. With East Africa hosting the global pageant, the 2027 Miss World competition is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of African beauty and purpose.
