Nintendo Museum to Open "Super Family Restaurant" With Game-Themed Menu!

Gamers and foodies, get ready! Nintendo has officially unveiled a sneak peek at its very first restaurant, the "Super Family Restaurant," which is set to open its doors next month at the Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture.

What's on the Menu?

During a recent media preview, the Japanese gaming giant showcased an exciting menu heavily inspired by beloved Nintendo franchises.

Fans of the Super Mario Bros. series will be thrilled to see themed dishes, including red and green pasta—a delicious nod to the iconic colors of Mario and Luigi. If you're bringing the whole squad, you can tackle the large party platter designed for three to four people. This massive dish features roast pork, hamburger steaks, and more, all playfully arranged to look like a journey through various video game stages!

Immersive Nintendo Decor

The 80-seat restaurant isn't just about the food; it's a fully immersive visual experience. While the overall design features a clean layout with playful cloud illustrations, the space is packed with nostalgic easter eggs and rare collectibles.

Diners can expect to see incredible displays, including a Samus Power Suit bust from Metroid, a replica of the Master Sword, and an impressive, life-sized statue of Link from The Legend of Zelda. Every detail quietly connects to decades of Nintendo history, making it a perfect spot for fans to hunt for references while they eat.

When Can You Go?

The Super Family Restaurant (whose name is a nod to the Super Famicom console) will begin a soft-opening phase with intermittent days in November for a limited number of customers. It will fully open about a month later.

There is a catch, though—the restaurant will only be accessible to Nintendo Museum ticket holders. Guests are expected to make their dining reservations on the day of their visit. The restaurant will be operated by Smiles Co., Ltd., the same company behind the museum's existing Hatena Burger café.

“We hope it will provide visitors with an opportunity to look back on their experiences at the museum,” a Nintendo official shared during the preview.

If you're planning a trip to Kyoto, make sure to add this highly anticipated dining experience to your itinerary!
