Tanzania Makes History: Jihan Dimack Crowned Miss Grand International 2026!

The international pageant world just witnessed a historic moment! On Saturday night in Bangkok, Thailand, Tanzania's very own Jihan Dimack took home the crown at the Miss Grand International 2026 pageant, making her the very first African woman to win the prestigious title.

A Historic Win for Tanzania and Africa

Jihan's victory is a massive milestone, not just for Tanzania, but for the entire African continent. The 30-year-old beauty queen, who is of Tanzanian-Lebanese heritage, beat out 75 other incredible contestants from around the globe to claim the crown.

Her journey to this moment is an inspiring one. Jihan is a seasoned pageant competitor with a career spanning over a decade. She was the second runner-up at Miss Tanzania in 2014, won Miss Universe Tanzania in 2016, and returned to the stage to win Miss Grand Tanzania in August 2026. During the final round, Jihan wowed the judges by highlighting the importance of compassion and kindness, citing her mother as her greatest inspiration, and stating that a strong woman leads with kindness and puts others' needs first.

Vietnam's Emoura Pham Shines Bright

While Jihan took the top honor, Vietnam's Emoura Pham (born Pham Chan Phuong) also had an incredibly impressive showing, finishing in the top five as the fourth runner-up.

Emoura, who is of Vietnamese-British descent, captivated the audience throughout the competition. She stood out during the peace speech round with a powerful message calling for an end to violence. She even invited the audience to observe three seconds of silence for those living through war, before beautifully singing an excerpt from Michael Jackson's "Heal the World."

Emoura's top-five finish continues Vietnam's strong track record at Miss Grand International, following their historic win in 2021 by Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien.
