Surprise! John Boyega Secretly Married Two Years Ago and Has a Baby on the Way

Hold on to your lightsabers, Star Wars fans, because John Boyega just dropped a massive bombshell about his personal life! In a recent interview with The Guardian, the 34-year-old actor casually revealed that he’s not just married—he’s been secretly hitched for two years and is currently expecting a baby boy!

The Secret Wedding

During the interview, the reporter couldn't help but notice a ring on Boyega's hand, prompting him to confirm that yes, it is indeed a wedding band. He chose to keep his wife's identity under wraps, but did share some sweet details about their journey together. The couple opted for a small, intimate ceremony when they tied the knot a couple of years ago.

But don't worry, he hasn't ruled out a big bash in the future. “We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry,” he explained. And when they do decide to celebrate? Expect a massive party. “And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!” the British actor (who is of Nigerian descent) joked.

Expanding the Family

The surprises didn't stop there. Boyega also shared that he and his wife have a "baby cooking"—a little boy who will soon be joining their family. This new addition will make Boyega a father of two, as he revealed he's also now a stepdad to a young boy.

“So, you know, my life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family,” he shared.

Finding Peace After Star Wars

It's beautiful to see Boyega so incredibly happy and fulfilled in his personal life, especially considering some of the challenges he's faced publicly. As many fans know, Boyega, who played Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, has been very open about the racist online harassment he endured from toxic sections of the fandom.

He famously spoke out about the lack of support he felt during his time in the franchise, noting that it "wasn't really a conversation you could bring up" back then. However, he's also praised Disney for stepping up and defending Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram when she faced similar abuse in 2022.

Showing incredible grace, Boyega stated he wasn't "bitter" about the difference in how their situations were handled. “Sometimes you’re not the guy to get the blessing and sometimes you are Moses, you know, you lead the people to the mountain, but you see the destination,” he explained. “You don’t get to go in, you get others to go in. And that’s where you get your happiness from.”

Congratulations to John Boyega and his growing family!
